BMW X5: An endless power experience!

DTE always looks for ways to make your car, more powerful, more efficient and more fun.

When you ask for extra 40 per cent of engine performance, that is exactly what you get. And you get it now! This time, the engine modifications run quite deep.

The xDrive35d is powered by a turbocharged, 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder diesel engine, producing 313 hp and 630 Nm of torque.

DTE tweaks the engine and turns the X5 impressively muscular when the throttle is sunk deep. The upshot of all these modifications encourages you to explore higher reaches of the engine.

What else would you expect from a company that knows the value of performance? There's enough power on tap (+31 HP) and a healthy glug of torque (+60 Nm) whenever you need it.

On top: there are various dynamic settings to adjust the engine’s performance and throttle response. You can choose your preferred driving experience: Sport, Dynamic and Efficiency.

Next to the Performance Pack DTE installed the PedalBox. Like all turbo engines there’s a bit of delay between asking for power and receiving the fun, especially, from a standing start.

The keypad allows the driver to alter the settings of the throttle response. The X5 feels most BMW-like when Sport-Plus is engaged.

With the PedalBox the throttle response is really sharp and the Performance Pack makes the X5 swift enough pulling pretty strong from low revs.

Both bring an endless power experience that one would expect from a starting jet. Brush the accelerator, and it surges forth with a remarkable show of enthusiasm.
